If you’ve been scrolling through Instagram or TikTok lately, you’ve probably seen a weirdly cute, mischievous-looking toy popping up in reels, bags, and celebrity selfies. That’s Labubu — the collectible toy that’s suddenly everywhere in India.
Labubu started off as a character in “The Monsters” a series by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung. In 2019, Chinese toy brand Pop Mart turned Labubu into a blind-box collectible toy — and that’s when it really took off.
The safest options are Pop Mart’s official store or their POP Now app. Be careful of fakes (a.k.a. “Lafufu”) being sold on marketplaces. If it’s way cheaper than usual, it’s probably not real!
Labubu’s popularity is only growing. With Pop Mart expanding globally and India’s love for collectibles rising, Labubu could be here to stay. We might even see local collaborations in the future.
Labubu is more than just a cute toy — it’s a Gen Z fashion and lifestyle statement. With its origins in Hong Kong art and its rise through social media hype, Labubu has found a growing fanbase in India. Whether you’re a collector, fashion lover, or just want to hop on the trend — this tiny monster might be your next big obsession.
